When knitting sleeves, do both at once - on the same needle. Not only will your sleeves be the same length, the gauge and shaping will also be consistent. This is also a good idea when knitting socks on circular needles.

Class Descriptions

Class fees are due upon registration.

Beginner's Crochet Class:  Second Tuesday of the month, 6:00pm - 8:00pm (during Knit Night), Class cost: $10 plus materials.  Learn how to chain, single crochet and double crochet.

Materials needed:

  • 1 skein of worsted weight yarn (purchased from The Knit Shoppe)
  • Size H crochet Hook

Beginner's Scarf Class:  First Tuesday of the month, 6:00pm - 8:00pm (during Knit Night).  Class cost: $10 plus materials.  Learn how to cast on, the garter stitch, and how to bind off.

Materials needed:

  • skein of yarn (purchased from The Knit Shoppe)
  • knitting needles

Oops 101:  Class Cost: $20 including kit.  Instructor:  Leni.  Learn the basics of fixing your mistakes.... how to unknit stitch by stitch, how to pick up a dropped stitch several rows back by dropping vertically, how to recognize a twisted stitch, how to repair a split stitch,... This class teaches what every knitter should know to save time and make their projects go smoother and look more finished.  Pre-registration is required so as to have the correct number of kits on hand! 

Extra Materials Needed:

  • size 11 10" straight needles
  • Size H Crochet Hook

Socks: YOU PICK THE TECHNIQUE:  First and 3rd Mondays of the Month, 6:30-8:30 PM.  Class cost:  $15 per evening.  Instructor:  Gina. Learn to knit socks using either 5 Double Point Needles, 2 Circular Needles or the Magic Loop Technique. Work at your own Pace.  the number of lessons required to complete your socks will depend on your needle size and your input of time outside of class. Supplies are not included.  We do, though, have a great selection of sock yarns, books, and individual patterns.  We can show you the techniques using DK worsted weight yarns and larger needle sizes, as well.

  • size 1, 2 or 3 needles depending on your gauge & technique
